Last January, Jérôme Galon, who leads the Integrative Cancer Immunology laboratory at CRC, received the 2021 Jeantet-Collen Prize for Translational Medicine, along with Ton Schumacher from the Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI).

This prize rewards the development of technologies that allow the study of the role of the immune system in the progression of cancer and thus contribute to improving its diagnosis and treatment. Jérôme Galon is the inventor of the Immunoscore®, which allows the evaluation of the response to immunotherapy of a cancer patient. This work earned him the European Inventor’s Award in 2019. The Immunoscore® is currently developed and marketed by the company HalioDX, co-founded by Jérôme Galon who is also director of the Scientific Advisory Board.
